The Chase Bays Oil Catch Can is one of the most important modifications you can do to your engine! The BMW M50 / M52 & S50 / S52 24-valve engine in E30 / E36 chassis massively benefits from this addition. It is essential for preventing harmful oil and carbon buildup in the intake system, decreasing oil consumption effectively raising octane levels, increasing performance with cleaner inlet air, and properly venting the crankcase pressures in the most aesthetically pleasing, modular, and easiest to install solution on the market.
Our Oil Catch Can features a 10AN ORB Inlet and Outlet, 4AN ORB drain, 3-stage oil separation baffling, a dipstick, and an o-ring sealed can to be safe for boost and recirculated systems. Something we highly recommend over vent-to-atmosphere. Closed/Recirc loop systems bring clean filtered air back through the engine to be burned and promotes negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance. Closed systems also eliminate unwanted oil vapors and smells in the car.
The catch can mount via our adapter bracket where the factory PCV unit mounts, under the M50/S50 OBD1 intake manifold and the factory or conversion hose (if S52/M52) that connects to the stock PCV unit will connect directly to our catch can. For optimal seal and quality we convert the factory valve cover outlet to 10AN with a barb o-ring adapter, then a BMRS 10AN Hose runs from the valve cover directly to the catch can. This makes for a perfect recirculating vent system that's VERY easy to install.
